Pictures worth not just thousands of words, but trillions of dollars

This from Kids Prefer Cheese (written by real, actual economists and such):

It has become almost fashionable to claim that the Fed is not doing nearly enough to revive the economy. This conclusion follows from the same logic that the "stimulus was too small" meme employs: Has the economy recovered? No? Then policymakers have not done nearly enough.

Check out what's happened to the monetary base since the crisis began:

The base has gone from a path of roughly doubling each decade to more than tripling in three years.

Then this is the new proposed gerrymandered Congressional district in Maryland,
which is obviously supposed to guarantee somebody's election, or preclude somebody's election, or do anything but continue the facade that anybody really gives a crap about representative government:

Or this picture of a complete and udder (yes, the spelling is intentional, see below) idiot, Wisconsin Judge Patrick Fiedler:

Whose recent ruling on the sale of "raw milk" included the following pieces of judicial intellect:

"This court is unwilling to declare that there is a fundamental right to consume the food of one's choice without first being presented with significantly more developed arguments on both sides of the issue."

"no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;"

Or how about this little revelation (admittedly no picture) from the Obama administration that it has now asserted the power to have a secret government panel, not authorized by any law, nor subject to any oversight, declare that specific American citizens can be assassinated/executed without any due process.  And before my friends on the right start yapping about "being at war," it is not possible to be "at war" with Al Qaeda in a legal sense because you can only declare war on a national entity, not a sub-national group.  Want to change that, fine.  But until then, don't ever visit me with any crap about how you're will to shred this part of the US Constitution for "national security" but insist that the other parts be upheld for your particular little self-interest.

From Reuters:

(Reuters) - American militants like Anwar al-Awlaki are placed on a kill or capture list by a secretive panel of senior government officials, which then informs the president of its decisions, according to officials.

There is no public record of the operations or decisions of the panel, which is a subset of the White House's National Security Council, several current and former officials said. Neither is there any law establishing its existence or setting out the rules by which it is supposed to operate.

The Constitution may not be a "suicide pact" but it is not an "ala carte buffet," either.

And finally, so I have a picture to end up with, this is Mitt Romney, explaining that God intends for the US to be the dominant world military power for the next 100 years:

OK it's an old pic, but certainly relevant

"This century must be an American century. In an American century, America has the strongest economy and the strongest military in the world," Romney says. "God did not create this country to be a nation of followers. America is not destined to be one of several equally balanced global powers. America must lead the world, or someone else will."

Have a great day.

Actually the Maryland Gerrymandering looks like a uterus and a vaginal canal in the middle of a normal district, with two hands negotiating the approach to the entrance....

... and a lot of middle aged women, I'm sure, will be sorely disappointed now that their husbands can't drink milk from their own cow.... :(

Challenge accepted... There are several parts of the Constitution I'd like to shred while insisting that the other parts be upheld for my particular little self-interest.

Amendments XIV (except for the first clause of Section 2), XVI, XVII, XVIII & XXI Section 2 come to mind.
